Whither Adrian Chiles

AC - Beard 01

I feel that Adrian Chiles is losing favour with the BBC as far as TOS is concerned and is on his way out. Who will replace him? My choice would be Mathew Wright but I doubt if C5 would let him go. I have an inkling that the BBC is thinking of Gyles Brandreth.

What Do You Think Of TOS?

Which is it
For the last couple of years I have been completing a daily online TV and Radio survey. The survey is conducted by GFK. It is commissioned by the programme makers which means that your voice will heard. There is a daily survey that asks for your opinion on the programmes that you have watched the day before. Occasionally there is an in depth survey. These are especially interesting, not least because it offers an insight into future programme ideas. The survey frequently seeks your opinion of individual presenters. If you are interested in joining the survey panel then please let me know and I will send you the link.

Slumber

art deco_1
These pain killers are making me sleep. Which is fine by me. I frequently drop off while watching TV or listening to the radio and it is here that I have to be careful. I need to choose these programmes carefully. This is because I have discovered myself dreaming that I'm actually taking  part in the programme. Particularly so if it is an argumentative one like ‘Today’ or ‘Newsnight’. I’ve recently had a lively discussion with Vince Cable. I have yet to pluck up the courage to fall asleep to TOS. But I will definitely give ‘Countdown’ a try. If astroplums does not wake me up.

GUESS WHO?

John Prescott

I still have my kidney stone and that means I am still tanked up on painkillers. The Consultant has assured me that there is a 95% chance the stone will clear itself within a few days. In the meantime I am enjoying the pills and the sleep they induce.

In my experience one should never feel sorry for oneself when entering hospital because you are bound to meet someone in there who is in a worse state than you. This was the case with me. There was a chap in our bay who had come direct from Harefield Hospital. He has genetic heart problems. He had attended a routine clinic in Harefield and woke up 3 months later. During that time his heart stopped and he was technically dead. They gave him a new heart. He then suffered a stroke that paralysed him, including his speech. Then as if that was not enough his kidneys weakened and almost killed him. He has persevered and he can now walk a little. He re-learned how to read and speak. But he is still working on his writing. He is only 40. He has a delicious sense of humour and we teamed up a bit.

What resonated with me was his wife. When she arrived to take him home. She gave him a piercing look of love. Her face did not register sympathy, sorrow or pity. It was love. So, you see he is a very lucky man.

The above is a picture that I stole borrowed from the Mail. The person is famous. Can you guess who he is?

BERT MARTELL

Bert Martell  This my Grandfather, Bert Martell. His first TV appearance was in 1937. His fee was 10 Guineas which was good money in 1937. (They spelt his name wrong)

WHO SAID THAT?

"The best way to take control over people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible reductions. In this way the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed.”

I am still wound up from last night’s TOSblogging.

Rock

I would have been a great success in a Rock Band had it not been for two pieces of bad luck. I could not sing or play a musical instrument. So it was not to be. Even though I was firmly convinced that I could have handled the groupies.

QUO VADIS TOS?

Illusion, Which is it 2

TOS is a mystery. Hopelessly I watch each evening, searching in vain for the young girl.

I wonder if CB’s desire for WAG status will cause her to be viewed by the Producer as a bit of a nuisance, or is it a case of all publicity is good.?

Does the recent apology herald the arrival of a new improved TOS? I hope so because there is a definite need for an early evening magazine show.

By the way, remember that we can drift off topic as far as we wish.
