TOS is a mystery. Hopelessly I watch each evening, searching in vain for the young girl.
Click to expand the historic Thanet pictures, some thoughts on shops and
shopping in Ramsgate and of course a Christmas ramble

So starting with some archive photos of Ramsgate shops.
Of course back in the day Ramsgate was full of, "are you being served"
shops, a situation base...

I have never been able to see the old woman in this, I dare not tell you what a psychologist makes of that fact, lol.
ReplyDeleteJH, Lately I watch, desperately awaiting the final credits.
ReplyDeleteThe old girl looks like AC.
ReplyDeleteJaded - from a good distance close your eyes, then open slowly, very slowly. Surprisingly she looks the same way - to the left. Very clever!
stroplums, following your instructions and JH's hint I have actually seen the old woman, bit of a relief actually. The Rorschach test has always left me with doubts about myself, and that was when it was being applied to others!!!
ReplyDeleteDear me, some of these one-off posts on TOS blog are really silly and over the top.
ReplyDeleteHave just popped into the TOS blog, what an absolute load of rubbish!

ReplyDeleteBirthdays and digital signals!
The programme must have fired the imagination of the few.
Got me whipped to a white heat of frenzy astro! What is going on in these people's heads?
ReplyDeleteI think it is the fact she appears to be hiding something about her age that so exercises them
ReplyDeleteIt's not the same without HKA, HF et al.
ReplyDeleteIf they are reading this...hope you guys are all well. Come on back, you're missed.
I am as concerned about her birthday, her honesty, her morals and her love life as she is about mine, lol. My horizons, like yours, are set a little further afield than that. The sad thing is that a lot of these bloggers have a thought and then the poor little thing dies of loneliness in its infancy! You are right the TOS team and certain bloggers have strangled the TOSblog by alienating the people with something to offer.
ReplyDeleteLoveday has come in ranting and raving about a programme called Loose Women, apparently today someone called Kate Thornton who is a presenter on the show, said that Terry's morals didn't matter as long as England won the world Cup. The comment does not appear to have found favour with a lot of people, but do the football fans really feel this way I wonder?
ReplyDeletejadedoldie,
ReplyDeleteI try to see it this way in that footballers are paid to entertain me on the pitch. The fact that they may also entertain their own and other wags on the pitch, in hotel rooms and elsewhere is something that I seek to ignore.
Their antics out of the game lack style. Not at all like the old rockers, Keith Moon, Led Zeppelin, et al. But the difference here is that these people were intelligent. Whereas the average footballer is barely aware that he is alive.

ReplyDeleteAnother empty headed TV presenter. If ever a programme had run its course it's Loose Women.
Having listened to a lot of phone ins (as I do) it is quite shocking to hear the number of people say that only "Engerland" matters. Not a mention of the children of these halfwits.
We live in sad, shallow times.
JH and astroplums, sometimes I feel a bit of a dinosaur, then I speak to people like yourselves and I am re-assured. I gave up listening to phone-ins because it was too annoying to hear barely articulate oiks betray themselves with their idiocies. Was the idea that only people of a certain IQ level should breed so very wrong? My age group was said to have suffered from role models that led us astray, but as you pointed out JH, most of them were bright, talented if rebellious folk. I have just listened to Beyonce[?] as BBC Breakfast mentioned her new release this morning. Ye gods, what is that all about? The lyrics [lol] are truly amazing!!!
ReplyDeletejadedoldie, Your 0006,
ReplyDeleteKeith Moon was well educated and articulate in edition to being being one of nature's great eccentrics. Brian May has a PhD in Astrophysics, Mick Jagger was at LSE doing a degree in economics and so on. They were bright and had style.
There is a story about Led Zeppelin. They were staying at an American Hotel. They wrecked their rooms. The following morning their manager went to the assistant hotel manager and paid for all the damage in cash. The hotel manager looked disgruntled. When asked why he said that Led Zeppelin got to have fun, go mad and wreck rooms. But he was stuck in a boring job in the hotel. So Led Zeppelin handed him a fistful of cash and told him to go and wreck a room and have it on them. That is style.
Sky_viewer talks like a curtain twitcher.
ReplyDeleteJH,re 00.20, that is a story I haven't heard before, and I absolutely loved it, as you say that is style! Queen, in the really early days gigged in the Driftwood Spars in Cornwall, they were unfailingly polite, amusing and totally insane, I loved them, and still do!
ReplyDeleteSky-viewer is not a happy bunny, fortunately that is not my concern, lol. He/she must have its little crises alone for I do not wish to play any more.!
