Adrian Chiles finally rides off into the sunset, run out of town by the Sheriff

images

Adrian Chiles is said to have told Christine Bleakley that, if she was his friend, she would refuse to present The One Show with anyone else.

Certainly it was his view - and his view was put to the BBC - that they had better not dare team his Christine with another man. [Source DM]

What a scheming little git.

Such arrogance to ask someone else to endanger their own career in order to further his spat with his bosses.

The BBC has called his bluff. So, he flounces off to ITV.

AC desperately wants to be a star. He strives to become bigger that the Show.  He failed with TOS.

I know you have never been a fan of AC's, but I wouldn't put too much store in the sniping that is going on in the press. The CB / AC thing is too easy to throw at him.

The real test for TOS will be when it has a new presenter and when Evans does the Friday programme.

I have listened to several people on radio on this morning, one of whom was Des Lynham, who slammed the BBC for the way he was treated and was quite insistent that it was AC who made TOS with a little help from Bleakley. He has a surprising amount of support. Bleakley on the other hand, although having co-presented the show for a couple of years, has only come to public attention since she hooked Frank the Chump, sorry Lump.

I still believe that irrespective of who the presenters are, the format of having one presenter on 5 days a week and others on 4 and 1 to be daft in the extreme. I can see the format being changed again in the near future.

  2. I take you point. My point is that it has been apparent for sometime that the BBC wanted to lose AC for whatever reason. I suggest that the BBC has engineered his departure.

I believe TOS will maintain its viewing figures no matter who they get to present it. To many it is just wallpaper.

I agree with you that the format will change in the near future. I get the impression that the BBC is still searching for the right format.

  3. It's a shame they didn't give new talent a chance. Chris Evans is old news and will cost a fortune!!!

Chris Evan's style is fine for radio but too manic for easy viewing on a Friday evening. That slot is supposedly being turned over to showbusiness. I can only imagine a production line of luvvies, wannabees and anyone chasing fame for fames sake. It'll be a nightmare.

If your a female and want attention - just pull a dimwit footballer and you're there.

excuse my grammar - Last para should be:

    If you're a female...

  6. Why would AC want to go to GMTV with a viewing audience of only around 1 million compared with the numbers they claim to get on TOS?

Steve Allen on LBC said this morning (5 a.m.) that he has to be up around 3 a.m. to be at the studio for his show. He said AC seems asleep at 7.30 in the evening so dreaded what he was going to be like early morning 5 days a week.

  8. If the reports in the rags have even an element of truth in them, then it will not come as a surprise if he is not on tonight. Shame if it ends in such a messy way.

  12. I wonder if CB not showing her legs over the last few weeks is a protest at adrian leaving for ITV?

  13. What gives with the white hats and yellow jackets for the interview on the bridge in cockermouth? There didn't appear to be any danger during the interview.

  14. Ray Mears - get your teeth done, please!

For all the crap in the papers, CB & AC's body language does not show two people who are unfriendly.

  15. gaz911. 1912.

I think the trousers are covering up hairy legs. Since having a very hectic social life with FL her hair and general appearance has gone to the dogs. I daresay her legs are suffering from hirsutism.

Ray Mears earns his living being in the bush, he probably uses his teeth to chew leather to make his shoes, pants etc.

The BBC 'elf n safety are probably worrying that the bridge may fall down again.

Yes, it's strange that she doesn't show her pins of late - she usually loves showing them off. Maybe she's developed varicose veins or her boyfriend can't handle us seeing her in her usual pelmets.

Lets be honest they'll use any old Sh*t as stick beat Adrian with. Also unless the new formats a huge hit,i think this time next year CB will be on GMTV.

Think you may be right. If not GMTV then she may be with Cowell on that daft programme that Hilly Wallaby did.

I think CB is fine on stuff like TOS, where there is a fairly slow pace - I don't mean that she is slow, in fact I think she is probably quite bright - but when she did that Sports Relief thing with the ever boring Gary Lineker I found her a bit wearing and it did not suit her at all.

  20. I think ITV will be seeking a female presenter to team up with AC on GMTV other than the regulars on there who are passed their best by date. Maybe they will bring back Anthea Turner who can teach him how to pack a football sports bag.

Yes the sports relief thing was a bit painful to watch.

Whats the betting after a couple months on GMTV that The Daily Fail starts running stories hinting hes having an affair with one of his female co presenters.

  23. Pretty tame show tonight. The wearing of hard hats on that bridge was dumb - even Ray Mears commented on that.

  24. We should not forget that AC & CB ought to possess sufficient acting ability to convince us on screen that they get on well. That is their job.
