ALEX JONES replaces CB

Alex Jones

Alex Jones

Lets’ wait and see.

  1. I have had a thought as to why CB is being championed for so many flagging TV shows. I suspect the producers are seeking to collect on the insurance money.

  2. With a bit of luck this may put an end to the continual publicity given the ubiquitous WAG that is Bleakley.

  3. I can only suggest that Alex Jones SUES THE ARSE of the idiots who think she is a cloned Bleakley, she looks nothing like an old, wrinkled tanned piece of leather!!!!

  4. Lets hope she cuts the mustard and doesn't let it all go to her head like the Bleak one. I fear though that TOS stylist insists on spray tan.

  5. I wonder how much money is spent annually on spray tan, and how the users were ever made to believe it enhances their appearance?

  6. Managed to watch 1st 15 minutes of TOS tonight. Old Gabby Logan (she's not really old) is very good without being simpering. Nice change. She is allegedly on for next three weeks, which means the new overpaid one should start right after Gabby L. finishes.

  7. Oh no, it's started already. Alex Jones' PR machine swings into action and she has yet to do her first show. If this keeps up we will be sick of her by September. The DM article is the usual vacuous stuff:

Had a look at that feature. Two things spring to mind, firstly the responses are a bit more positive and secondly, it may drown out the Bleak one for a while.

However, it would be wiser to wait and she how she fits into her new role and not put her under undeserved pressure.

The Bleak one on the other hand has created her own pressure with her endless self promotion and posing for every camera, even at the church fete and if she is not a worried woman when she starts Daybreak, then she is wholly self-possessed.

  9. astroplums, I agree. I think they should slow down the PR machine until she has actually done something. Otherwise it will damage her.

  10. What is it about TOS that engenders so much interest in the female presenters? The new one is having her past dug and has done little more that many in show business have done and the Bleak one is DM fodder again (with usual responses from DM readers)looking quite ridiculous, that is unless she is under contract to Orange Mobiles..

  11. astro, I did have to google the reference to the Bleak one looking like a riddler, apparently a childrens programme in the 90's, the similarity is absolutely amazing.

I have just looked up this 90's kids programme the "Riddlers". Bit cruel, but a passing resemblance - must be that colouring!

Heard a bit on Radio 5 that the Welsh TV channel SC4 made an announcement and apology that Alec Jones would be leaving. Apparently some of the programmes get only 1,000 viewers and Ms Jones earns more with them than she will on TOS.

  13. astro, seems she sees an appointment to TOS as a stepping stone to the better things in life if she is prepared to take a cut in salary to go there! AJ does have a loyal fan base from her previous shows, I hope she will turn out to be an aset to TOS.

Can you pick up those shows in your part of the UK?

  15. We get them through a satellite dish, but I can't say I've taken much notice. There is a dreadful soap called Pobol y Cwm, [people of the valley], which makes other soaps look professional, lol. Very reminiscent of Crossroads!

  16. God help us Jaded, Pauline ,sorry, is it Lady Pauline Prescott is joining TOS as a reporter and sometime studio presenter. So says the DM - it must be true then!

  17. Astroplums, Heaven help us. Prescott must have friends in the BBC.

Sorry - my grammar in that blog is appalling.

  19. Greetings from abroad. I'm a fan of the One Show too and I think Alex is doing a good job. I'm more worried about Chris 'motormouth' Evans. He likes to hear himself talk a little too much for my liking.

  20. Alex doing a great job on TOS. Her stand out features are her wide range of facial expressions which communicate what she really thinks about something and her access to a huge wardrobe budget, and that's just the heels she wears on air!
