Never again, please!

AC departure

I can do no better than to quote jadedoldie who has said, “I have enjoyed this weeks shows, shame they won't stick to this pairing. Tonight's show felt as if we were all in the same room sharing a laugh.”

Me too: I just hope that a combination of Jay Hunt and Jason Manford does not return the show to the erstwhile dumbed down precocious TOS that we all despised.

This is Jay Hunt

  1. JH, I feel that Jay Hunt is woefully inadequate in her present employment, perhaps a nice little job as teagirl on a provincial newspaper would be better suited to her meagre talents. Jason Manford would be well advised to look at the public response to AC and CB's ideas that they were "the show" before he attempts to become the centre of attention. Unfortunately stand-up comics are by their very calling are prone to seek centre stage, here's hoping he can contain his ego!

  2. Sorry about the appalling grammar in the previous post, too much liquid morphine I fear!

Having listened to Jay Hunt being interviewed, it is easy to detect her stupifying arrogance. Jay Hunt is never wrong and more importantly, must never be challenged.

However, whilst TOS may improve in the short term, I do not think the the programme has a great deal of longevity in it. Far too much tinkering has taken place and the two monumental egos it created, have I believe, done permanent damage to the brand.

In fact the pressure that they have unwittingly created for themselves vv "Daybreak" must be worrying for the makers of that show. It could be a very big TV 'car crash' indeed. In fact given the lust for attention and the filthy lucre, I hope it is. Anyway, the radio is much better at that time of day.

  4. astro, from your mouth to God's ears, nothing would give me more pleasure than to see the dynamic duo [my tongue is firmly in cheek there, lol] crash and burn!

  5. Wonder if Daybreak will have a blog running.

Probably not, don't think Chiles and Christine, 'I need to be seen' Bleakley, will have the stomach to put up with it. Would be fun though.

  6. I hope there is a Daybreak blog. But I doubt there will be. The deadly duo will not be caught out twice.

  7. It would appear that the ITV. GMTV forum was shut down back in 2008. It looks doubtful that they will start one for Daybreak.

  8. All quiet on the Western Front.

TOS creeps along and the traitors appear to have gone to ground - well for a couple of days at least!

All I can say is thank the stars for Rachel - a young woman (and a much better looking one) who never seems to have the need for paps outside her front door or watching her eat a cookie at a church fair. Think Polly Hudson got it spot on.

  9. Oops! Sorry, the DM has foiled me again.

  10. Why would a company invest millions in presenters and a new show (Daybreak) and then look at changing the presenters in the first year?

Poor CB might not be able to hack getting up early for her 1.3 million per annum salary so she might go off to presenting the Xfactor instead. Pity the poor postman, baker and milkman.

If the story in the DM onloine is true, all I can say is that i'm glad I don't have shares in ITV.

  11. astroplums, I have just read the DM article and the ensuing comments. CB is not popular, even despised. I hope she has a thick skin to go with that thick brain.

I suppose I have to say good luck to her if people want to throw money at her, but the whole scene, from a business point of view, seems most misguided to me.

  13. Astroplums,
CB must grab what she can. She will not be around for long. She has no discernible talent to sustain her.

  14. I conclude from reading comments on various sites that we are actually the closest thing to an appreciative fan club Christine Bleakley has, lol.

Where or why did she lose her fans?

My opinion is her perceived disloyalty to the Beeb.

  16. astro, I do believe it was her un-shakeable belief in her own talent [?] allied to that constant shrinking away from reality that did for her. For sure, the "who will pay the most for my skills and talent" episode didn't help, neither did her constant courting of the papparazi! Gushing over every guest who appeared on the show finished it for me. She also seems to be perceived as a gold digging opportunist by many people. Not that I wish to character assinate, but she does make it dreadfully easy. Whether or not she had an affair with Chiles, she certainly seemed to revel in the speculation. Not a good look.

  17. Being invited to Simon Cowell's box at Ascot certainly paid off! AH, certainly creamed the way for her.

  18. Must say the numbers responding on the DM blog is quite staggering. She certainly brings the worst out in the vast majority of repondents.

  19. quote from DM article

Last night, a source close to O'Leary stressed: 'Dermot loves the X Factor and has no plans to leave. If he did get the X Factor USA job, he would travel between London and LA, just like Simon Cowell, who will appear on both versions.'

Is DM making up the story to keep her in the news to create even more of a backlash? If so, it apears to be working from the comments being left.

You may well be right as far as the DM is concerned.

Sad to hear that Alex Higgins has left us. The last photograph I saw of him, was of a very sick man. R.I.P.

The Mirror is carrying the same story as the DM but has been extremely nasty in its editing. Piss taking I would say. I think it may not stay up too long so I have copied it below.

At this rate, Bleakley will be sitting in Simon Cowell's throne before too long

Dermot O'Leary, Christine Bleakley, oh no, it's another X Factor story Sniffing a celebrity’s hands may land you with a restraining order.

But we are willing to lay actual money on the fact that if anyone beyond Frank Lampard ever manages to get a whiff of Christine Bleakley’s digits, they’d smell of a variety of different pastry products – the many pies she has her fingers in.

Yeah, cuz, basically, she may be in line to present every programme on ITV that is ever shown.

Including Teletext, if that’s still going.

And repeats of Coronation Street where she’ll replace every actor to play all the roles herself.

Appaza, according to reports, she’s gonna be lined up to take over from Dermot O’Leary as part of her hostile determination to take over the world contract with ITV.

Sources have been tittle-tattling away to the best of their shit-spreading abilities, with one suggesting that Dermot is jumping before he’s pushed and squashed like a bug off to Yankland instead.

“His girlfriend Dee Kopang is already working as a TV producer in Los Angeles, so he would like to try his luck in Hollywood. He is already spending the majority of his time out there with Dee, so it would make sense,” somebody told The Mail.

Although another source countered with: “Dermot loves the X Factor and has no plans to leave. If he did get the X Factor USA job, he would travel between London and LA, just like Simon Cowell, who will appear on both versions.”

    Doesn’t matter.

THEY WILL ALL FALL BEFORE BLEAKLEY. HahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaHA

But what might happen if her and Cheryl clash? Ohmitotallyspeculatinggod.

  22. Poor, poor, Alex Higgins, sometimes death arrives as a friend rather than something to be feared, I hope someone was able to make his last days easier, and assist his passage out of pain, as you say astro, R.I.P.

  23. CB overload again.

Today, in various papers, we learn that she may be pregrant whilst clearly displaying her phoney but newish bazookas, will never see Lumpards sprogs and may have difficulty getting up early in the morning, even whilst getting bundles of cash for same.

N.Korea may nuke the Yanks, but who cares, horseface from TOS is bigger news.

This girl is going to go the way of that other 'Goddess' Anthea Turner - unwanted but still firmy believing the opposite.

  24. Apparently the TOS replacement for the Bleak one is to be announced tomorrow.
