TOS Returns On Monday

Renamed 31_5_10-383

So then TOS returns on Monday and we still do not know who will be replacing Christine Bleakley. I expect the BBC will try several hopefuls over the coming weeks before settling on a regular.

My worry is that the new improved TOS will offer competent, articulate and charismatic presenters, and that the TOS features will entertain, educate and in inform. Should this happen then what will we  have left to discuss on this blog? Apart that is from jadedoldie’s seal skin bikini. On that thought, the weather is gloriously sunny and warm here and I am considering getting a Borat style Mankini. I cannot decide whether to choose one in yellow or perhaps eau de nil. Watch the Daily Mail for further reports and photos. I may even team up with a lady footballer.

  1. JH, if you will wear the mankini, I will accompany you in my bikini on a parade across Harlyn beach, that should stir up excitement amongst the emmets!!!!! The yellow would go well with my sealskin.
I don't think you need have a restless night, the standards are not, I fear, going to be raised. Perhaps Amanda Holden could make a guest appearance to enrage astro, lol.

  3. Amanda Holden would be the end. However, don't think it'll be too long before she appears on "Heartbreak".

Allegedly Tess Daly is being touted as a permanent replacement for boob job C.Breastley. Having watched her being hopelessly indiscreet on SCD, I hope it's not true ... more eye candy with no journalistic bacxkground.

  4. astroplums.

Please not TOSS Daly. Aka, Vernon's door mat. I would definitely have to resort to the OFF switch.

If TOS doesn't give us something to rant about, then I suggest we rename the blog "Jaded's Celebrity Noose", where we can have fun disecting overpaid, overated, ungrateful halfwits and generally put the world to right.

  6. jadedoldie, your 1155: You're on. I will tip off the paparazzi.

[I have also looked up the definition of 'emmets' which was a word new to me].

  7. astroplums, Your 2141: That's a good idea. I would enjoy that.

  8. Fame, [or is it infamy] at last, who wants to nominate the first candidate for character assassination, lol?

Baron Prescott of Kingston Upon Hull.

Bit like Christine Breastley, in that both have gone on to become things they swore they'd never be.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I felt insulted when Prescott was made a minister.

  11. I felt degraded when the fat oaf was offered and accepted a Baronecy.

Super idea, there are hundreds of candidates out there.

I hear Ester Rantzen's daughter will be co presenting TOS sometime. Never seen her but Ohhhhh for famous parents!

Nothing to beat a bit of nepotism.

Love the new header with aka Jaded. Brilliant!

  14. Tonight's show was an eye-opener, it flowed, allocated sufficient time to each item, which while of little interest to me proved to be a vast improvement on the original format. Oh, and finally, presenters who didn't need the props of sheets of paper to shuffle around, and weren't the main purpose of the show.
That nasty fat SMALL man should never have left his station in life, a ship steward, or, rather, a bar steward!!!!! Vermin in ermine!

  15. By the by JH, as a result of having read your last sentence in the header, you may be interested to know I have now developed an interest in football [table variety] and am desperately learning the offside rule, I live in hope, lol.

  16. I enjoyed last night's show. It flowed smoothly, thanks in large to the Presenters. Who seemed to care more about the show as a whole rather than their own image. This is a vast improvement.

  17. Jadedoldie, Your 2135: It is a long time since I have played Table Football, or indeed done much else on a table, other than eat.

  18. Have just stumbled across an unofficial CB fansite. She has 1 follower, proabably the person who started it, how sad is that!

    ReplyDelete
  19. danedweller

I should think that she has lost a lot of friends/ fans of late with her rather silly if pompous behaviour.

I also read that ITV are very disappointed that A.Chiles as anchor did little to raise viewing figures during the World Cup. Apparently the BBC beat ITV hands down.

I have a horrible feeling that the whole thing with AC & CB is going to go tits up for ITV and their profligacy with the cash is going to backfire very badly.

    ReplyDelete
  20. astroplums

There is a Facebook page to the effect that ITV The Worst World Cup Football coverage. AC has taken a really hammering on there.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Had no-one from ITV ever seen AC on screen before they hired him, I am amazed at the appalling lack of judgement the recruiters have shown, but thank the Lord it isn't my money any longer!
I am quite impressed by Louise Minchin, and the chap alongside her seems to realise he's there to amuse us and not for self aggrandisement.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Really enjoyed the show again tonight. Louise Minchin was great during the levitation, I can just imagine how irritating and attention seeking CB would have been!

I didn't like Louise Michin before, but am now beginning to really like her. Really up for a laugh and not so up herself as the WAG. They might be on the right track with TOS. Her male co-host works well with her and the guests are now getting some time rather than being rushed off, as with AC in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  25. TOS is not the same show. Someone has worked really hard to improve and save it. I enjoyed the show tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I actually found myself laughing and enjoyed the show, two unassuming people who actually join in with everything! Refreshing and value for money, my congratulations to the new team. Perhaps the producers may now be confident enough to re-instate the TOSblog.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Apparently CB is besides herself because she thinks she's now a hate figure as she has been perceived as a money grabber.

Guess what CB,I think you're on the money there!

    ReplyDelete
  28. astroplums, Your 01:06: Well, she can always atone by giving her money to the poor.

  29. JH 1344

It's a concern to me that the girl who jumped for joy at raising 1.3 millions for charity (from our fivers)to help many in Africa, is now earning that for herself, per annum, for the each of the next 3 years.

We do live in a strange world.

Mind you JH, who knows, perhaps she'll give most of it to her charity.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I would be soooooooooooo grateful if someone would write down the word "consumer" and show it to the erstwhile second hand car-salesman who is now TOS's expert on everything!!!! It is not spelt "CONSHUMER" you irritating little man!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. jaded

My beef is 'aitch' pronounced as the aspirated 'Haitch'

Just shows you that you need little qualifications to become an established TV presenter.

  32. astroplums 0106

I read the stv report, apparently 'a friend' do we read that for AH said Frank has been helping her to cope. Diddums. I am sure whe will cope all the way to the bank, and in her dreams all the way up the aisle where she will really cash in!

    ReplyDelete
  33. danedweller 1905

That article also quoted her as saying that "everywhere she looks, people are criticising her".

If you read this Christine, blink please.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Danedweller, cope with what for heavens sake, she sowed the seed and is now reaping the whirlwind, she courted publicity and must put up with the result. She needs to look around before she whines and sobs, the people who need to "cope" are the bereaved families of soldiers, and the bobby blasted in the face by a psychopath!!!
By the way astro, I'm with you all the way on the aspirated aitch, I find myself yelling every two minutes, there is no aitch in aitch!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am an 'aitch' man to the death - besides it's the easier of the two to pronounce.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I now enjoy TOS. It is often just the programme I need at that time of the evening.

I hope Jason Manford does not ruin TOS by using it solely as a vehicle to display his comic talents. TOS does not need anymore would be stars.

  38. Taking a look at the DM, who is obsessed with CB, one just cannot believe that she is so upset and leaning on Frank for support. Her expression has the usual 'Cheshire cat self satisfied grin. She is obviously busy contacting the papparazi again.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I am sure that the DM on-line has an agenda with CB.

The latest article purports to be friendly, but is sticking the knife in at the same time. The ensuing comments from readers cannot be heartening to her as hardly anyone is now coming out to bat for her. All I can say is that she must be as hard as nails to put up with it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Interesting that the DM highlighted the Bleak one, a few months ago, leaving a meeting with her so-called new partner, Chris Evans. Today the DM highlight her having a meeting with her 'new' ITV partner A. Chiles.

We remember what happened after the Evans meeting - will history repeat itself?

  41. Gabby Logan is hosting TOS for 2-3 weeks apparently.

Do wish they would get it settled down as it has a distinct lack of permanancy about it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have enjoyed this weeks shows, shame they won't stick to this pairing. Tonight's show felt as if we were all in the same room sharing a laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Here is more evidence that Jay Hunt attempts to dumb down programmes, as she did with TOS.

  44. jadeoldie, Your 21:18: An apt description. I am at last enjoying TOS. I just hope that Jason Manford does not try to hog the limelight.
