I enjoyed last night’s TOS. Or rather what little of it that I had the stomach to watch. The duel attack of Omid Djalli’s threat to go off PC and fornicating rabbits sent auntie Adrian into a spasm of hot flushes.

I live next door to Margate. This once great town is now run down and shabby. It has pretentions to culture in that the council is building a ‘Turner Centre’ to display modern art. Turner once lived and painted in the town. The building of the Turner Centre has been mismanaged by the council. It is in the opinion of many a waste of public money that could have been put to better use elsewhere. To sum up: Margate is tatty and cheap. It wastes its time on pointless pseudo artistic projects that will fail. Bearing all this mind, why should anyone be surprised to discover that TOS has an affinity for Margate. It is Adrian and Christine's kind of town. For there they can feel superior.

  1. Danedweller, You said, "I also object to the one minute at a time telly copter segment as if we don't have the ability to follow the thread for any longer because we all have the attention span of an goldfish."

I respectfully suggest that you are missing the point here. Their tactic is simple. The idea is to tease and stimulate you with short bursts of excitement in order to prepare you for the final satiating climax.

In this respect it is similar to other, er... sort of things.. like... er.. Yes, well I have to go now.

  2. oh hell, not an election, I don't think I can take it.

  3. andy, I wonder if TOS will assist us with some deep political insight during the election.

  4. John, I'm sure CB will have some very wise words of wisdom, like footballers and BBC staff must get much more pay.

  5. JH, I am sure TOS at this very moment is contacting that dreadful female who does the Labour Party promos for them. Her name escapes me, and I haven't the stomach to trawl TOS blogs to resurrect it! Andy brace yourself for AC and CB to assume their "serious" expressions and steer us all in the right [or should I say left, lol] direction for polling day!

Back early today - just in time to see our Rachel.

Jaded the woman you are thinking about is Kaye Adams

JH. The telly copter thing is just awful. It's more suitable for 2-4 year olds and should be renamed budgie.

I was amazed how sniffy and panicked AC becomes when a guest goes even slighty off script. At least CB just has a good belly laugh at such things.

  7. Our local paper is full of praise for the TOS daytrip to Margate. They interviewed several people who all said how wonderful it was to see AC & CB in the flesh. Naturally, they all claimed to avid of TOSwatchers.

Not much happens in Margate then.

  9. astroplums, 1558

Nothing much at all ever happens in Margate these days. The town centre is all but deserted. I daresay that the the TOS crew outnumbered the gathered spectators.

  10. I wish I had know that TOS was coming to Margate. I could have turned up there with some helpful advice.

  11. According to Google analytics this blog gets regular hits from a town in Northern Ireland. Now,that is a cause for speculation.....

  12. jadedoldie, Your 1438: Mark Thompson has issued a statement that the BBC will be politically impartial during the election. Well, let's wait and see....

    ReplyDelete
  13. JH1622

    Does it specify which town?

    ReplyDelete
  14. How can the BBC pretend to be impartial, don't they get easy loans of EU to keep them sweet.

  15. JH

From the Google analysis does it indicate that many people read the blog without participating?

  16. Astroplums,
    Your 16:31 & 17:13:

The towns are Glengormley & Belfast. As far as I can tell there are people who read the blog but do not contribute. Though I cannot tell how many.

  17. JH your 16.25, while Mark Thompson may make these statements does he take into account the fact that all of the BBC's employees know that they are exempt from any disciplinary actions, however far they stray from the "ethics" of Auntie Beeb.
astro, thanks for that, it was annoying me that I couldn't remember! Personally it is a highlight of TOS for me when AC sits there looking like a terrified rabbit when something he perceives as un-pc happens. I nearly wet myself last night when he went into coniptions over a fornicating rabbit, lol.

It is reported that the BBC has received at least £141 million for so called educational and research from the EU, but I don't think anybody has been fooled.

AC has had his sense of humour gene removed, and it has been replaced by a money making gene.
CB has been given his share of the humour gene, hence she is unable to stop her inane laughing. Her money making gene is intact and we all know where that is strategically placed.

  20. Adrian Chiles and the fornicating rabbits is a potential YouTube moment.

  21. Hopefully in the run up to the election we may see TOS being a bit more adventurous in their pieces. On the other hand we may get more from budgie the bloody helicopter. I pray for low cloud and poor visibility to keep that puddle-jumper grounded.

She said that if anything gets her into debt it would be shoes. No problem with debt now then. Her strategies of late have at least ensured the shoes are free.

  23. how much does that quack get paid for stating the obvious?

  24. Surely, truck drivers, many of whom are overweight, have only themselves to blame for being the way they are. Too much poor food and lack of exercise - applies to all of us.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Perhaps drivers who visit their doctor suffering from acute sleep apnea should lose their licence. Harsh, but it would force drivers to get healthy and be safer on the road for everyone, including themselves and their families..

    ReplyDelete
  26. TOS editor please note:- we don't need to see sweaty armpits.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Michael Crick sabotaged a TOS attempt at political bias.

    ReplyDelete
  28. danedweller 1922

Totally agree with you. Far too many deaths and injuries caused by drivers falling asleep.

They should have a medical every year, from the outset, to mantain their licence, just as other transport professionals have.

    jaded

Interseting to hear TOS say that they would have no political pieces. apart from M.Crick, in the run up to the election. No Kaye Adams - thats a relief.

  29. Danedweller, I missed that comment, obviously it was said during on of my switched off moments, lol. I truly believe that it is the brain's self defence strategy, JH goes to sleep, and I go to the special place in my head where all is good!!
My god, the thought of no Kaye Adams is WONDERFUL.
astro, your christening of the wind-up helicopter as Budgie is truly inspired, lol.

  30. Has anyone taken a look at the TOS facebook?

Looks ripe for some CONSTRUCTIVE comments!

  37. I seem to be having problems posting on the blog today, sorry if there appears to be a lot of the same postings.

Thanks for the link. It'#s full of sycophantic drivel from poor souls who had their picture taken with them in Margate.

    Little things please little minds!

I know, how sad is that!

  40. CB's legs seem to have disappeared the last few days. Maybe she's playing too much keepie-up with the Lump and is suffering a bit with the shin pads.

  41. Has anyone noticed that in the last couple of weeks Christine been slowly pushing Adrian off the end of sofa.

  44. I have visited TOS on Facebook. It appears to be a very strange place. I have left a helpful message there. I've also placed a link to our blog.

A strange place indeed. I think most of the posters are in fact AC & CB in disguise. It's nearly a love-in.
