Now we know why Pauline Prescott is trying to worm her way onto TV via TOS. Lord and Lady Ginster imagine themselves to have a future as entertainers. Their lack of self awareness is astounding. But they clearly have friends in low places. This is how they get the bookings.

  1. While m'Lard has always been a joke in my eyes be damned if I'd pay £9,000+ to have him mumble at me! Nasty grubby minded little man.

  2. We should appreciate that some passengers nowadays act yobbish. This is the trend everywhere. But this activity must be curbed at sea. Clearly, you cannot lock fare paying passengers in the brig, nor keel haul them, nor make them walk the plank. But the Captain (Master under God) can and does - you've guessed it - make the yob watch the slob for a couple of nights. Now that is punishment.

  3. "I’ve always thought Prescott is like Les Dawson, without the jokes, the warmth, the intelligence or the personality. He certainly lived down to expectations, telling crass anecdotes about knickers. Heaven knows what the wealthy American East Coast cruise set made of him."

  4. Let's hope that Lady Pauline does not appear too often in the coming season. Since its return, TOS has been nicely balanced, let's hope she doesn't tip that balance.

Happy and prosperous New Year to one and all.
