CLOTHES SWAP?

I thought that 'thewonshow' was going to visit us. I think we have  guessed who he is.

I do hope that TOS is a good show tonight. At the moment watching it depresses me a little. I see from the pre-show blurb that Adrian and Christine are going to dress each other. This has the potential to be funny and interesting [this before the watershed? Mod].  Was this idea dreamt up by a psychologist lurking among the production crew.

  1. I have been pondering on what is exactly wrong with Adrian Chiles and it has become very evident tonight - he has been robbed of his personality.

  2. Danedweller,

I can't make out if he (AC) is just genuinely dry or disinterested. I do sometimes think that he feels overshadowed by the female now. Perhaps the roles have reversed in his mind. Many people within broadcasting think he is a great presenter. So perhaps we are getting it wrong.

Amazing what bad dress will do for soneone. CB looked positively naff in that suit.

I used to listen to AC when he was with Micky Clarke on Radio 5, the money section, it was the first time I had ever heard of AC. Micky Clark, cheeky cockney and ex trader, run circles around him with his humour. AC then went on to host the lunchtime money prog on BBC TV and since then he has been showered with jobs.

I may be wrong, but I just get the impression that he thinks he is destined for better things. CB is very vibrant and does tend to overshadow him some evenings.

Clothes maketh the man they say, 3 pairs of jeans, 2 white T shirts and 4 sweaters! I think not in his case. LOL

I too am an avid RL5 listener and you are right about Mickey Clarke...he is as sharp as they come. Best I can say about AC is that he is the BBC's answer to Walter Mathau.

I'm just watching 'Match Of The Day' - it's half time at the moment - and never have I seen such a miserable bunch of faces in a studio. Alan Hansen, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer. Not a smile amongst them!

When I needed a lift I used to love listening to Fi Glover on RL5 late slot. She was brilliant.

  7. Him in doors has it on. These presenters are on nice little earners for a few hours work and you would think from the look on their faces they had the national debt on their shoulders.

In the early days of R5Live, I think it was Fi Glover, who used to have the 10 p.m. show, with a few guests and a few glasses of wine I think. If it was her, memory loss, she was very witty. Richard Bacon took this slot over at some time and I just couldn't take to him so I tuned my WIFI onto US stations to listen to some American news etc. Then flick back over when Rod Sharpe came on at 1.00 a.m. listen usually for a few hours, then wake up to LBC, for 5 a.m.Steve Allen, the naughtiest man on radio.

It is an hour ahead here so I will be off to take the dog for his you know what and then to tune into 630WMAL. Have a nice evening and whoever you are supporting good luck.

  8. Astroplums.

Like your Walter Mathau connection. There's a man with the ability to make you laugh whilst being absolutely pan faced.

  9. Must listen to this Steve Allen. Do you listen on the internet?

  10. I am beginning to feel sorry for the hapless AC. I think the idea of the sketch was that AC, the helpless male, has no idea about women's clothes and the girls tease him about it. You have probably heard the joke where the woman says my husband threatened to put me in a Burka, but I'm not worried because he sure to get the wrong size. In my view the joke did not work tonight. The women seemed to dislike AC, their remarks were cutting. I felt he was being bullied. Did the women believe AC had it coming?

Mind you, If I was AC and had read the criticisms on the blogs in the past few months, I think I would have committed Hari Kari
