TOS FOOD

SEP040558

Jay’s [is that his name?]  food item last night was better than usual. Albeit that TOS was again bringing us yesterday’s news tomorrow.

For once AC was able to resist trying to poke fun at Jay[?]. AC can be a bit of bully when confronted by a guest or colleague of whom he disapproves. The presenters should know that they are not bigger than the show.

Personally, I yearn for a magazine type show in the early evening. TOS frequently lets me down. Having said that, I detect some improvement in the standard and content of the show recently.

It is good to hear new voices on the site. Welcome one and all.

Cooking, man

We’ve got guests coming to stay today. So, it’s time to think about feeding them.

(What IS he doing to that carrot).

  1. JH thank you for the timely reminder about BST. I regret to inform you my dear that my invitation to dinner appears to have gone adrift!!! AC likes to see himself as a bit of a wit, unfortunately he does come across as a bully, his humour being alternately heavy handed or infantile!

  2. By the way, the food man is Jay Rayner, son of the sainted Claire Rayner, sent to advise us all. I much prefer son to mother, he can be entertaining if allowed the opportunity, and is quite a kind young man when dealing with competitors on a food orientated competition [the name of the programme escapes me at the moment]

  3. jadedoldie, My earlier post: We really do have friends visiting today. I had to go to Waitrose to catch two ready roasted chickens to feed them. They just rang to say they will be 4 hours late. The friends that is, not the chickens.

Thank you for confirming Jay Raynor's name.

  4. JH, the chickens are already late,I nearly slipped into Python mode then, lol. You are sooooo lucky to have a Waitrose nearby, we don't have a single one in Cornwall!

  5. That lump of steak is pretty cheap!

Agree with most of your points, but not on Jay Rayner. Think his spot is one of the worst on TOS.

Now Sopie Dahl's fudge - I'd love to share that with Rachel over a few consonants.

  6. Oh woe is me!

The following little diatribe is based on what I have read in the Sunday papers.

Firstly, CB is being pursued endlessly by ITV. Great things beckon, alledgedly. But then as one progresses through the article it transpires that they want her to take over where Holly Wallaby left off - interviewing deluded halfwits for ITV2's Extra Factor. Not a great career move in terms of being seen as authoritive. Must say she's fine on TOS format but wasn't too impressed with her on SR.

Worse was to come (for me anyway),Hardeep Singh Koli, that turbanned streak of egomania, misogynist and general creep, is comimg back to TOS and has alledgedly suggested that TOS has missed him. He has obviously not regretted his wrongdoing with a female member of staff.

The timing of his comeback and the suspension of the blog make me very suspicious indeed. TOS afraid of a busy board with possible plethora of objections?
